If you came here looking for an impressive list of credentials, you may be disappointed. The vision for Simply Be Simply Yoga came to me — and resonates with those who’ve joined — not because of our great successes in life but because of our failures.
We’ve struggled with depression, addictions, loneliness, loss, confusion, and despair. We’ve fought inner demons and lost. Woke up hungover or in places we would rather not be far too many times. But yoga and other alternative healing modalities helped restore us to sanity, to well being, and to deep inner peace. Our losses and failures are our greatest credentials and why we offer what we do in service to others.
I am fascinated with the body / mind / spirit and its capacity to heal when provided with the optimal environment. As such, I’ve studied several healing modalities including (but not limited to) Ayurveda, Burt Hellinger’s Family Constellation Work, Family Energetics, EFT, UZAZU, and Energy Psychology.
I draw on all these modalities and more when teaching yoga, as yoga practice creates fertile ground for healing and self transformation.
I received my 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification through the Living Yoga Program in Austin, Texas and continue to learn and increase my skills as a yoga teacher. I take several online courses a year with Noah Maze and Christina Sell and plan to complete my 500 Hour Advanced Teacher Training within the next few years.
I studied Economics and International Relations in college, and POLS/Public Administration in graduate school. I am also an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) practitioner.
